ASB Thoroughbred - Bay Mare, 1996, 15.3hh

Sophie was purchased through the Thoroughbred Broodmare Sale in Scone NSW as a 6 year old mare. She was in foal to Nediym (Ire) and produced a bay colt who we raced in partnership with a group of work friends for a few minor places but a ton of fun!

A lovely elegant type of mare, resembling an over grown Riding Pony, with huge movement she was a joy to watch travel over the ground. Whilst always a delightful mare to handle she was never easy to get into foal. She only produced a small number of foals for us over the many years she has been in residency here however we are very grateful for her only filly Carlingford Park Double Take, one of our prominent Show horses and now broodmares.

Now into her late twenties Sophie still roams the paddocks here with her fellow retiree paddock mates.
